Hopefully if you’re reading this, you’re already past the “making money online is a scam!” phase. As a professional internet marketer, I’m well aware that this is simply the mindset of an uneducated and biased majority, in addition to being completely bogus.

I’ve also had a lot of experience with various strategies used to earn fast money online: affiliate marketing, ebooks and information products, freelancing and surveys and all that crap. I’d have to say, though, that my favorite pick as far as being the easiest, fastest, and most reliable is still the good old niche website model monetized with AdSense.

Pay Per Click

When I first attempted to earn fast money with a niche website (MMO, as it were, which isn’t so much a niche as it is a chasm) I knew next to nothing about internet marketing. I was learning as I went, stumbling all over the place and tripping over my own feet.

I spent too much time on layout and content, not nearly enough time backlinking, and based the entire project on about ten minutes worth of keyword research. Add to that how I kept getting sidetracked and leaving the project to dabble with anything that caught my fancy, and you have a more or less guaranteed recipe for failure.

I’d Call That “Foolproof”

It didn’t fail, though, that the thing. My keyword selection wasn’t arbitrary; I knew what I was looking for, and stopped looking when I believed I had found it. And apparently I did, because in it’s first month that site was indexed, on the first page of Google, and made me 5.4 dollars from eight measly clicks, out of approximately 250 visitors. You do the math — that comes out to a heckuva lot more than $.10 / click, that’s for dang sure, and the CTR ain’t bad either.

I did misstep a bit when it comes to competition, though, as the keywords were a little out of my league to begin with. Given enough time and consistent backlinking, however, that site will be number one for keywords with a combined monthly search volume in the millions, making an average of $1.00 per click and consistently no less than $0.50. As far as first attempts go, I’d say I could have done worse, and if you don’t think that’s a killer way to earn fast money then there’s just no pleasing you. =P

So That’s My Story

The point I’m making with all this is that even with the botched efforts of a complete newbie, this method to earn fast money still managed to pull out with some fairly promising results. After that first month, I had a solid, workable foundation of knowledge with which to proceed. I was able to target much more appropriate keywords more effectively, and simultaneously build and market several more profitable sites.

If I can do it, I have no doubt that anyone can. I’m sure many people could do much better with their first attempt than I did, and conversely some people might not do so well. Whatever the case, the potential to earn fast money is inarguable there, and once you’ve got a grip on it you’re more or less home free.
